aloftstarIt’s about time singer-songwriters get out of playing to crowds who care less in dingy bars where the bartender is actually the loudest. Aloft Hotels are hosting the first edition of their singer-songwriter competition Project Aloft Star in India, with a $10,000 prize for winners and a chance to perform at Aloft’s 100 Days of Music celebrations in Seoul Gangnam, Korea.

Singer-songwriters must submit a YouTube link to their original music in any language ”“ either a performance video or a music video ”“ along with a short biography and note about the song. Head over to Project Aloft Star page to submit your entries. Top 10 entries will be selected for public voting. From these, a mix of public voting and scores from Aloft’s judging panel will decide the top five entries from India. While the winning entry from India gets $10,000, they also go on to compete alongside Aloft Star winners from China and South East Asia regions to stand a chance to perform at the WXYZ Bar in Seoul. With entries set to close on August 24th, the Project Aloft Star will kick off its final performance rounds in India between September and October this year.

Take part in Project Aloft Star by submitting your entry here.
