The country’s only awards for Indian metal returns in its fifth edition this year

What do prog metal band Skyharbor, hardcore band Scribe and groove metal band Providence have in common? They’ve all gone home with multiple nods at the Rolling Stone Metal Awards, the country’s first and only awards to honor Indian metal.
Last year, Skyharbor make a clean sweep with eight awards, including Best Band, Best Song and Best Album in both the critics’ choice and popular choice categories. There was stiff competition between Bengaluru-based alt metal band Heretic, Mumbai death/thrash metallers Devoid, Pune experimental metal band Noiseware, Delhi black metal band 1833 AD and Mumbai prog death metal band Orion, who were were all nominated last year.
This year we’re inviting entries in nine categories:
Best Band
Best Album
Best Song
Best Vocalist
Best Guitarist
Best Bassist
Best Drummer
Best Keyboardist
Best Album Art
Bands and artists who have released a single, EP or album between April 1st, 2013 and March 30th, 2014 can send in entries in any or all of the above categories. The winners of Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2014 will be announced in June at what promises to be the loudest night of the year, featuring performances by some of the best metal bands in the country.
Download the Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2014 entry form and send in your entries along with your MP3 song attachments to metalawards@rollingstone-india.com. Last date for entries is April 30th, 2014.
