After a year spent on his debut album Lifafa I and several gigs across India and Europe, Suryakant Sawhney released his second four-track EP In Hi Ko. Sawhney, also vocalist-guitarist with Delhi gypsy/psychedelic rock band Peter Cat Recording Co., busts a disco move [“Irradon,” “Agnee Remix”] on his solo project, which was originally shaping up with glitch hop/IDM sounds. The title track “In Hi Ko” retains some of Lifafa’s original lounge elements, and includes his reverb-laden croon (in Hindi) over a dreamy loop. Come for glitch hop, stay for Sawhney’s indecipherable, heavily-modulated but soothing croon.
