The ‘MTV Hustle 2.0’ alumni’s collaboration comes after they made “Loriyan” together for the hip-hop reality show
Rappers Panther aka Anubhav Shukla and Spectra aka Shubham Pal let their hormones dictate the flow on their new collaboration “Samajh Rahi Hai.” While a music video from the song – starring content creators Sassy Poonam and Bakwas Talks – is expected out on August 9th, you can hear the drill-inspired song below, ahead of its official release.
While there’s plenty of double entendre and wordplay on the Hindi song that addresses infatuation with a woman who can make a man out of a boy. It’s a total pivot from the Uttar Pradesh-origin rappers’ first collaboration, the somber and spirited “Loriyan,” which gained popularity while they were both on hip-hop show MTV Hustle 2.0 in 2022.
Panther describes “Samajh Rahi Hai” as “an ode to a special girl who has us mesmerized like magicians.” In an earlier interview, Panther joked that they had made a song for moms with “Loriyan” and they were now making a song for “mommies.” He adds in his statement, “Working with Spectra is like an adventure and a joy, and our previous collaboration on ‘Loriyan’ was well received and we decided to work on more songs together. It is really special working with him.”
Spectra, for his part, has often leaned into collaborations in Indian hip-hop, ranging from Munawar Faruqui (“Nagpada Ka Rider,” “Dus Lakh”) and Srushti Tawade (“Makeover”). He says in his statement that Panther too seemed more like a brother than a co-contestant on MTV Hustle. After “Loriyan” gained millions of streams, Panther and Spectra had already begun working on “Samajh Rahi Hai,” although they put it on the back burner for a while. Spectra adds, “However, Panther always asked about it, and one day, I decided to complete the song. Since we both lived in Noida, I went to his house. Together, we finalized the beat, recorded the song, and knew it was a banger. I’ve also made another special song with Panther, which means a lot to both of us.”
