The track is the first single from the New Delhi singer-songwriter’s upcoming debut EP
New Delhi singer-songwriter Ribhavv Singh – who goes by his first name – has his grandmother to thank for helping him develop as an artist. He says, “She motivated me.” The 17-year-old musician soon began uploading covers to social media and also started writing his own material. By June of last year, he had already released a number of singles and had collected streams in the hundreds of thousands for his songs. Ribhavv is now out with the first single, the moody “Run Away Fade Away,” from his upcoming five-track debut EP Bedroom Sky.
Through “Run Away Fade Away” – produced by Australian artist Neptune – the musician paints a picture of falling in love with a friend and due to not wanting to complicate things, decides to cut ties. “Although this song can be heard or looked at in many other ways, this is just one way of looking at it,” he says. The track features an acoustic guitar plucked hook as well as downtempo production plus Ribhavv’s chilled vocals.
The singer-songwriter has juggled online schooling with making music and has spent hours on end at his home studio fine-tuning Bedroom Sky. Uninspired by anything else around, Ribhavv looked up at his white ceiling and used it as a canvas to be creative by using just his imagination. Once the record is out, the artist plans to take a break and shape his sound further. He says, “I’ll come back with bigger, better and crazier collaborations.”
