The track is off the singer-songwriter's 2017 album ‘Written In The Stars’
Earlier this year, singer-songwriter MILI released the stirring music video for her song “Fooling” off her 2017 debut album Written In The Stars. The musician is now back with a brand new clip, this time for the power ballad, “New Day.”
Conceptualized by Mumbai director Koushik Sarkar, the video follows an interesting story of the making, packing and delivering of fortune cookies. Shot in Mumbai and Budapest, MILI says, “This was [a] very interesting experience as he (Sarkar) got the vibe and vision of the song instantly and once he explained the concept I loved it right away.” She adds, “I loved the mystery in the whole idea.”
The track ”“ recorded by veteran instrumentalists such as drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, guitarist Michael Landau, bassist James Genus and pianist George Whitty ”“ is about starting anew. “The concept itself is something that’s so much a part of all our lives that it’s very easy for everyone to relate to,” says MILI. The musician wants people to have their own take on the song and video, she says, “Music, film and art is such a personal experience when someone experiences these things it becomes their own personal journey or moment.”
