Last year, Mumbai singer-songwriter Mohit Mukhi released two videos for songs off his sophomore album Midnight Lullabies which included the melancholic, “Are We Where We Want To Be,” and the emotional “Lucky Man.” But he wasn’t done yet. A brand new video for the poignant “My Heart In My Hand” is out now.

Brought to video by Pune animator Shravan Patil, “My Heart In My Hand” unfolds like a short film, reflecting on love, losing close ones and rekindling. Mukhi says, “We went with a certain feel that worked for us and hopefully it resonates with people.” On collaborating with Patil, the singer-songwriter explains, “I have watched the videos he’s made for [electro-fusion act] Bandish Projekt and I’m a big fan of his work.”

Mukhi is currently in the U.K. as he preps for his upcoming tour, playing five shows in London, Reading and Manchester starting July 9th. “To be honest, this tour wasn’t planned much in advance. In early April I decided I want to tour the U.K. and shortlisted the venues I thought I’d like to play at,” says Mukhi.

Upon his return from the U.K., Mukhi is slated to play shows in New Delhi, Jaipur and Mumbai in August accompanied by bassist Bijit Bhattacharya and drummer Avinash Chordia, he says, “I’m really enjoying this space of a traditional bass, drum and guitar trio.” Following the tour, there’s one more music video in the pipeline and work on a third album has already begun. “I’m not really pushing myself too much though, just taking it as it comes,” he says.
