Exclusive Stream: Train ”“ Bulletproof Picasso
Hear the Grammy-winning American rock band’s seventh album in its entirety
If you need a cure for the Monday blues, then we’ve got just the thing. We’re streaming American pop rock band Train’s seventh full-length album Bulletproof Picasso a day ahead of its release worldwide.
Best known for their Grammy-winning 2001 song “Drops of Jupiter,” 2003’s “Calling All Angels” and more recently, the chart-topping 2009 single “Hey Soul Sister,” Train now have another set of moody rock tunes slated to release with Bulletproof Picasso. The band’s seventh album continues to be rooted in mainstream rock with a hint of funk, roots rock and R&B. Straight from the dance-y opener “Cadillac, Cadillac” and the pop rock title track “Bulletproof Picasso” to the country western-themed lead single “Angel in Blue Jeans” and the warm, funky “Wonder What You’re Doing for the Rest of Your Life,” featuring British R&B vocalist Marsha Ambrosius. It’s the hopeful pop rock we’ve come to expect from Train, the great pick-me-up album you would like if you’re into radio-friendly rock.
Bulletproof Picasso is produced by previous Train collaborator Butch Walker, who has worked with everyone from Taylor Swift and Pink, to pop punk rockers such as Simple Plan and Panic! At the Disco. Frontman Pat Monahan has said of the album, “I’ve always wanted to emotionally connect with people through the songs. But I also want to get into people’s lives with this album.” Monahan is one of the founding members of Train who is still a part of the current lineup, along with lead guitarist Jimmy Stafford.
