Fresh from their trip to New York City to record their second EP, Chennai electro rock band The F16s have hit a polished sound that’s the very definition of moody. And with Nobody’s Gonna Wait, they don’t need more than two tracks to prove that. Starting off with the trippy “Jacuzzi,” vocalist-guitarist Josh Fernandez muses on love as the guitarist Abhinav Krishnaswamy adds shiny and fuzzy riffs, surprising with a ska rhythm and keyboardist Harshan Radhakrishnan leads the band into a synth-heavy crescendo. On “Blackboard,” which is closer to the six-minute mark, The F16s move towards a sound big enough to fill an arena.
