Ferozi Mark ‘The Arrival’ on Hard-Hitting Debut Album

It’s not just pop groups that are springing up with label support – Haryana’s hip-hop movement found new torchbearers with the formation of the six-member group Ferozi, who have released their debut album Ferozi: The Arrival via Sony Music India in January 2025.

The 10-track album brings together heavy-hitter rapper MC Square alongside the likes of Gurjar HB, Mndp, Mark Bhatia, producer ZeroToOne and Sky Meri Jaan. Thriving as individual artists and occasional collaborators, Ferozi: The Arrival sees the six artists come together for a punchy debut album in which everyone’s talents seem to shine.

The group says in a collective Interview about finding their dynamic, “It has been really fun as it comes naturally we don’t have to impose things on each other. Just being ourselves listening to every creative idea and prioritizing the best regardless who gave that.”

Among the big stages that Ferozi have already conquered include Spotify Rap 91 Live in Mumbai late last year. The group says, “The main goal while performing is to deliver the experience, registering each one of us as a different character yet a Ferozi [member] and giving everyone what’s due for them.”

MC Square and ZeroToOne are fixtures on every track off Ferozi: The Arrival and there are stories of identity, resilience and confidence, plus a couple of love songs that make for a wide-spanning album. Square calls it “curating a revolution in sound” and he’s more than happy to share the limelight after huge success as a solo artist for songs like “Laado.” He says, “Every day, I get to work with my bros whose passion and vision mirror my own. Finding these like-minded souls who want to push boundaries as much as I do. We’re not just making music, we’re setting the stage for a movement and a common dream of redefining hip-hop.”

The Haryanvi hip-hop star is the face of Ferozi and behind the scenes, when they get into songwriting and composing, he says it’s about blending his ideas with the “collective vibe” of the group. He adds, “I’ve learned that the creative process is a balancing act and at the end of the day, it’s all about growth. The way we navigate creative trade-offs is by keeping our eyes on the bigger picture. What’s going to make an impact? What’s going to push hip-hop forward? What’s going to make F-city proud? Those questions guide every decision. And as long as we stay true to our purpose, no trade-off ever feels like a loss, it’s always a step toward something greater.”

To that end, the group is clear that they’re not here just for a one-off project with a short shelf life. “The steps can be slow but each one will be heavy and better than the last one,” Ferozi add collectively.
