Filter Coffee is a fusion/electronica duo compromising Swarupa Ananth (Table, Percussions and Vocals) and Shriram Sampath (Flutes and samples) formed in 2009. Describing their music as “Indian Ethnotronic,” the duo provides a new look on Hindustani Classical as they combine traditional tabla and flute with catchy electronic samples and drum loops. They add funk to their tunes as well, with a dreamy, pop sound. The duo has been seen performing in a variety of venues, which include Blue Frog, Mumbai, Kino 108 [at the fortnightly gig series BOMB Thursdays and Bali Spirit Festival (2011) in Indonesia. In 2010 and 2013, the duo toured UK. The duo has released live versions of singles online and has no album as of yet.
