Tour rescheduled after band sorts out visa issue
Controversial Indian politicians aren’t the only ones falling foul of the visa authorities these days. It’s a hard life for American rock and metal bands looking to tour India as well. Last week, metal act Nile ran into visa problems forcing them to cancel their shows in India. Earlier this month, Nineties hair metal band Firehouse announced that they had to postpone their two dates in April in Nagaland and Manipur because they too weren’t granted visas for to travel to India. The band was scheduled to play Dimapur on April 7 and Imphal on April 10.
Luckily for fans of the band in the North-East, Firehouse recently announced that they’d managed to solve the visa crisis and will indeed be making the trip to India this month. A statement on the band’s Facebook page said “FireHouse is Happy to announce that we now have ALL of our Visas for entry in to India ! We look forward to seeing you soon as we “Rock To Rescue India.”
The band will play Dimapur (Nagaland) on May 4 and Imphal (Manipur) on May 6 as part of the rescheduled Firehouse Rock To Rescue India Tour 2012. This is the band’s second trip to the region. Firehouse last performed in India in 2004.
