Punch has emerged as one of the more consistent female vocalists in Korean entertainment, having recorded multiple megahits from major K-dramas. I contend that her voice resonates best when it communicates love, nostalgia, longing, and wistfulness.

Her singing evokes feelings that more intensely relate to the situations confronting the characters in a story. Listed below are five Punch superhits, the singer’s best K-drama songs.

“Stay with Me”– Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (2016)

The melodic line of the OST is dreamy, akin to the idyllic fantasy of an immortal goblin who seeks a human bride to seize an invisible sword from his chest. It’s refined, well-structured, and passionate. Punch’s luxurious voice, alongside Chanyeol’s (EXO) seamless rap, builds the song’s lyrical allure.

“Stay with Me” is an iconic instance of how Punch’s vocal texture always conjures a warm, fuzzy feeling, making it ideal for love ballads; it deepens its romantic aspects in perfect unison with Chanyeol.

“Everytime I See You”– Descendants of the Sun (2016)

Punch and Chen (EXO) laid down an epic jam that became an instant classic. That initial encounter between the protagonists when sparks fly is one of the most beautiful moments in Descendants of the Sun it captures.

Punch in stages impacts her voice to a beautiful climax as she sings delicately drifting. The whole thing comes along smoothly, and she pulls off another stunning vocal turn. Her rendering of “I Love You” in the final note of the duet renders the sweetest finishing touch.

“Say Yes”– Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016)

Her voice has a cool and stream-like cadence when Punch performs “Say Yes,” and that rides through its profoundly moving moments.

With his stylish rap lyrics, Loco adds a fresh spin to the song, which is laden with heartfelt moments involving the drama’s lead characters. As a result, it excels and sticks out in its hip-hop synergy. Enormous in feelings of love and a craving for the beloved to accept the other’s sentiments, “Say Yes” remains gorgeous to date.

“Another Day”– Hotel Del Luna (2019)

The kind of soothing background that is emotionally impactful is provided by “Another Day,” with its subdued melodies and soft acoustics.

Punch and Monday Kiz’s collab on the soundtrack is a beautiful cry that embodies a deep, musical journey through love and the pain it often brings.

They persuasively convey how two star-crossed lovers resist each other in this dour fantasy romance involving a man and a cursed immortal woman through “Another Day,” drawing attention to their misery—the ache of unrequited love.

“Go Away Go Away” – Doctor Romantic 2 (2020)

Following the phenomenal popularity of “Stay with Me,” Punch and Chanyeol reunited for this awesome piece from the medical romance melodrama Doctor Romantic 2.

Punch’s warm tone creates an emotional explosion, making the underpinnings of sincerity, love, and grief explicit. Her voice—just as appealing every time—lends more meaning to the music. The sweeping melodies are reinforced by Chanyeol’s rap lines.

Punch and Chanyeol sort of set a precedent for K-drama OSTs. Their duets are exceptional and, in my opinion, rank among the best in the K-drama song repertoire.
