Over The Edge – “Take Control”

Bengaluru alt-rockers Over The Edge’s latest single is the indie-rock offering “Take Control.” The song features melodic guitars, a delicate groove and slick vocals. In a statement, the band said, “[The song] conveys the remorse of one’s inability to speak out, being a selfless listener to a loved one’s outburst but falling victim to their misinterpretation.”

Darren Fernandes – “On The Timekeepers Watch”

Mumbai singer-songwriter Darren Fernandes’ newest track is the poignant “On The Timekeepers Watch.” With lush acoustic instrumentation, dynamic and Fernandes’ timber vocals, the song is quite the earworm. In a statement, the artist said, “The song explores themes of time, ambition, solitude, and the transient nature of life.”

Anoushka, Sparsh Verma – “You Ain’t Coming Back”

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Anoushka teams up with producer Sparsh Verma on the piano-aided ballad “You Ain’t Coming Back.” The track showcases Anoushka’s splendid vocal prowess. A press statement said, “’You Ain’t Coming Back’ holds a special place in Anoushka’s heart as a tribute that attempts to capture the universal human experience of love, loss, and the enduring connections that unite us all. Despite never having met her grandfather in person, Anoushka embarked on the journey to create this heartfelt composition from her mother’s perspective.”

Shantam – bleep

DnB/IDM artist Shantam’s new EP comes in the shape of the five-track bleep. The record contains glitchy soundscapes as well as plenty of dance elements that make for the perfect club soundtrack. The juxtaposition of melodic phrases and straightforward bass lines creates a captivating contrast against the angular and frenetic energy emanating from the spotlighted drums.

Shreya Bajpai – “Outsourced”

New Delhi singer-songwriter Shreya Bajpai’s has recentyl put out a pop-rock track enttled “Outsourced.” The song features some neat guitar work while Bajpai’s smooth vocals sit perfectly atop the sleek production. In a statement, the artist said, “The song is about self-love.”

Dev Mehta – “In My Mind”

Vadodara-bred and Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Dev Mehta is back with new music, this time with the flowy acoustic-leaning track “In My Mind.” With breezy acoustic guitar parts, a pop groove and Mehta’s subtle yet catchy vocals, the song is quite a treat to listen to. In a statement, Mehta said, “It is about keeping your feelings bottled up inside and regret not sharing them.”

Tidals – Lovedale

Mumbai-based guitarist/producer Siddharth Talwar (of alt/pop-rock band Spud in the Box) is now out with his debut EP for his new solo electronica project Tidals. The five-track record features a host of collaborators, including Talwar’s Spud in the Box bandmate, singer Ankit Dayal. Tidals merges dance, lo-fi, funk, soul, and R&B influences to craft a relaxed and atmospheric mood. Lyrically, Lovedale covers themes of love, sex, and sleeplessness.
