Swara – limbo
Bengaluru pop/R&B singer-songwriter Swara is now out with her four-track debut EP entitled limbo. The record oozes with a certain freshness in terms of its production while Swara’s honeyed vocals sit perfectly across the EP. In a statement, Swara said, “I don’t believe in there being only yes or no options because there always is an in-between or an answer outside the norm… but since we’re so used to finding comfort in ‘stability’ and ‘closure’ it’s just difficult for most people to accept that taking time and being confused is so, so normal. That’s what I’m doing with this EP – letting them know that it’s okay to not be okay.”
Shweta Srivastava – “Kahan Hoon Main”
Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Shweta Srivastava’s new single and her first Hindi track is the melancholic “Kahan Hoon Main.” With poignant piano parts as well as a delicate pop beat, Srivastava croons beautifully on the song. In a statement, the artist said, “‘Kahan Hoon Main’ is a reminder to believe in the rhythm of your dreams. It encapsulates the essence of the quote, “You are where you are meant to be” and is a reflective encouragement to have faith in the calling of the heart.”
MEHR – “I Fell in Love with You in September”
New Delhi singer-songwriter MEHR’s latest offering is the indie-rock track “I Fell in Love with You in September.” The song features emotive lyrics juxtaposed with dreamy and upbeat production. In a statement, MEHR said, “It [the song] beautifully captures the ephemeral essence of summer love as it transitions into the reflective mood of autumn.”
