NIMBU – “Fish Food”
“Fish Food” by New York-based artist NIMBU dives into the depths of organized crime lore, melding historical references with a modern twist. The track, a “mob-wife” inspired anthem, intricately weaves narratives of love, betrayal, and resilience. NIMBU’s quick-witted verses take listeners on a global tour of organized crime, referencing figures like John Gotti and fictional mob bosses. The title and chorus, referencing the Mafia’s euphemism for the deceased as “fish food,” juxtapose violence with playfulness, reflecting on the hidden world of crime. Backed by diverse instrumentation and influenced by South Asian sonics, NIMBU’s production creates a symphony of sounds, making “Fish Food” a feast of sonic and lyrical exploration.
Shal Antal – “Rubik’s Cube”
“Rubik’s Cube” by Mumbai-bred singer-songwriter Shal Antal encapsulates nostalgia and introspection, stemming from the artist’s personal journey.
