Ditty – “Sadness”

New Delhi-bred singer-songwriter Aditi Veena aka Ditty recently released her first music video for the intimate spoken-word piece “Sadness,” off her 2019 debut album Poetry Ceylon. The clip – directed by Manipur visual artist Venus Maku Thokchom – complements the track superbly and features dancer Aseng Borang performing a choreographed piece effortlessly in a desert. In a statement, Ditty said about the track, “I wrote this song when I realized the only cure to grief was to grieve.”

Chandresh Kudwa feat. Gino Banks – “Days of Isolation”

Mumbai guitarist Chandresh Kudwa joins forces with city-based drummer Gino Banks for a stomping instrumental track called “Days of Isolation.” The song includes Kudwa’s distorted guitar chugging as well as his fiery melodic solos and vibrant dynamism while Banks holds the track down dexterously with his pulsating grooves and impeccable timing. “This song encapsulates the emotional roller coaster experienced by me over the last year and a half, be it sadness, happiness, fear, courage, anger, frustration, negativity, positivity or all of these mixed feelings at some point! These contrasting feelings is what I’ve been able to capture in every few measures of the song,” said Kudwa in a statement.

Peaking Panda – “Nanhi Pari”

Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Hitesh Kumar aka Peaking Panda has been part of the indie music scene for the best part of a decade but has only just released his acoustic-leaning debut single “Nanhi Pari.” The fresh track features warm and wholesome guitar parts while the musician’s beautiful vocals carry the track with his gentle melodies and mellifluous harmonies. In a statement, he said, “’Nanhi Pari’ is a heartfelt lullaby sung by a father for his daughter, reassuring her of his unconditional and omnipresent love at every stage of her life.”
