Atrangi Funkaar – “Khushboo”

Jaipur-based indie outfit Atrangi Funkaar’s newest single comes in the shape of the synth-pop track “Khushboo.” The glitzy song includes slick instrumentation, airy vocals, a scintillating outro guitar solo and more. In a statement, the band said, “[The song is about] a lover’s plight and a romantic’s dream is what bring ‘Khushboo’ together, churning in the memories of beautiful days gone by. It’s a melodious strum of love and loyalty, reminiscing moments of care but also those of abandonment. It brings to the table a one-sided narrative of a selfless partner who surpassed himself in keeping the other person happy but lost his own in the process.”

Keshuv Huria – Aparna

On his four-track debut EP Aparna, Mumbai-based singer-songwriter Keshuv Huria enlists the help of vocalists Sumedha Karmahe, Vidhya Gopal and Hansika Pareek on three of the songs to make for enchanting duet performances. Sonically, the record falls in the alt-pop/indie pop category, and Huria says, “Aparna is essentially a memoir, a collection of four songs about the journey of meeting someone, falling in love, and then the eventual heartbreak to bring this fateful story to its inevitable end, something which everyone of us has gone through in our lives at some point.”

Unluv, jeevana – khwab.

London-based electro-pop artist unluv and Mumbai-based alt-pop artist jeevana recently teamed up on the seven-track EP entitled khwab. The record houses lush dream-pop sounds and is laced in R&B goodness. The wistful vocals across the EP sit perfectly with the laidback production and pensive soundscapes. In a statement, the artists said, “The whole EP is about long-lost nostalgic love where the guy is expressing his desire and dream of reaching out to his beloved who is unattainable and far, far away, hence it is his dream of getting her back and she only comes in his blurry dreams.”
