One of the most successful progressive house acts on the German music scene last year, Jerome Isma Ae, who headlines the Holiguns festival on March 17th, has been featured on playlists by artists such as the British dance group Above & Beyond, Dutch trance star Armin van Buuren and British DJ Gareth Emery. Isma-Ae’s compositions have constantly ranked on Beatport progressive house and trance charts. This will be his first performance in New Delhi. In its third edition, Holiguns was headlined by psytrance artist Goa Gil  last year.

Samrat Bharadwaj of Teddy Boy Kill believes that festival provides a platform to some of the best indie musicians that the capital has to offer, with artists who perform a variety of styles that include downtempo electronica, rock, indie and even a little metal. Suryakant  Sawhney, vocalist of Peter Cat Recording Co, mentions that although the venue was changed the day before the event last year, the turnout was still impressive.  He says, “It was surprisingly well organized. I think, in general, people were pretty happy with last year and hopefully should show up in bigger numbers. The venue is much better [this year] and the crowd will be better too.”

With one stage for electronica and another for a mix of genres including rock and alternative, the festival holds appeal for all kinds of music lovers. The Live Stage will host performances by Delhi-based acts such as blues and reggae act Solo Indien, folk rock band Woody Accouche Project, indie rock group Moonshine, blues and alternative band Gravy Train, jazz group The Jass B’stards, cabaret and psychedelic rock band Peter Cat Recording Co. as well as Delhi rock n roll band The Shakey Rays and the Estonia-based bhangra and reggae Bombillaz.

The EDM Stage will host performances by Delhi-based electronica artists whose styles range from acid hop to soul funk such as Soundwise, Lifafa, Bagula Bhagat, Audio Pervert, Teddy Boy Kill, Su Real, Flash Hardcor and White Rabbit.

Electro house duo Progressive Brothers from Delhi, who also opened for Brit DJ Gareth Emery during his tour of India last year,  will play the opening set for Isma-Ae.

Holiguns Festival takes place at Zorba, New Delhi on March 17th, 2014. Tickets: Rs. 1,600 (early bird, available here), Rs 2,000. More event details here.
