Bhopal’s GIFLIF Is Back, This Time With NFT Concert Tickets

The Great Indian Film and Literature Festival’s Comedy and Music iteration on March 26th and 27th will host Piyush Mishra, Agnee, Kanishk Seth and others

After they hosted a drive-in festival last year in between waves of the pandemic, Bhopal’s Great Indian Film and Literature Festival (GIFLIF) will return to host the GIFLIF Comedy and Music Festival on March 26th-27th in the city.

Like last time, the music line-up plays to its strengths of fusion artists. Veteran lyricist and singer Piyush Mishra’s project Ballimaaraan will headline the festival, alongside fusion/rock band Agnee, electro-fusion artist Kanishk Seth (performing with his trio), Pune rock act Fiddlecraft, Mumbai fusion band Bombay Bandook and New Delhi Hindi rock band Chaar Hazaari. On the comedy front, Ravi Gupta will be performing, and there will be a dastaangoi storytelling session from artists Himanshu Bajpayee and Pragya Sharma. To close off the festival, period action and drama flick RRR (directed by S.S. Rajamouli) will be screened.

While last year’s edition was all about bringing a music festival experience and also instilling a culture of ticket buying in the city, this year sees the organizers set their sights on experiences for users on the blockchain. Over on NFT marketplace WazirX, GIFLIF are selling 22 NFTs at the price of 0.05 BNB. 14 of these NFTs have already been purchased by collectors, which gives them a “genesis series NFT ticket” and promises access to behind-the-scenes footage of the festival and advance access to festival performance videos. NFT owners also get exclusive discounts for future GIFLIF events. “We believe in the magic of the indie space, and also a huge potential in the kind of content we have curated over the year. With the web3 coming we are sure going to go big in the new space,” the organizer’s note mentions, referring to the livestreamed performance videos that went up from GIFLIF 2021 on their YouTube channel.

If NFTs aren’t your thing, regular tickets to the two-day festival cost Rs 3,000 (front arena, seated), Rs 1,800 (front area, standing or second arena, seated), Rs 1,200 (second arena, standing) and Rs 998 (third arena, standing).

GIFLIF Comedy and Music Festival takes place on March 26th and 27th at MPT DDX Drive In Cinema, Bhopal. Buy tickets here.
