Last month, when English indie rock band Alt-J were to perform at HUDA grounds in Gurgaon, as a part of their debut India tour, the audience was in for a big disappointment. Alt-J fans waited in the rain for close to three hours only to be told that the show had been cancelled. It felt like history was repeating itself, as a similar series of events had unfolded during the American thrash metal band Mettalica’s concert in 2012 due to security reasons.
Despite facing some rain in Bengaluru too, the Alt-J show went on successfully there, as the audience danced to the beats of Rudimental and sang “Tessellate” along with the indie rock band. Thanks to popular demand, Emerge is bringing the indie rock band back to India this summer on a two-city tour. The band will be performing in Delhi/NCR and Mumbai, in May 2015.
Alt-J will be performing in Delhi/NCR on May 21st, 2015 and in Mumbai on May 22nd, 2015. Event details here.
