Gig Preview: Simon Posford a.k.a. Hallucinogen live at Blue Frog, Mumbai

The English DJ and producer will also perform as Shpongle, his psychedelic music project with Australian flautist Raja Ram

UK-based electronic producer Simon Posford returns to India this week to perform in Mumbai.  Like his last Mumbai show in January 2014, he will play tracks from his solo electronic project Hallucinogen as well as his psychedelic collaborative Shpongle with Melbourne’s veteran flautist and DJ Raja Ram. Posford is travelling here as part of Blue Frog’s electronic music property Sphere, which has hosted Belgian techno producer Marco Bailey and UK EDM project Reset Robot. in the past.

Shpongle and Hallucinogen are both known for combining world music with psychedelic trance and sounds inspired by feelings of euphoria. Posford is also part of the psybient duo Younger Brother with English music producer Benji Vaughan.

For the show in Mumbai on February 5th, Posford will channel his alter-ego Hallucinogen with tracks from his solo studio albums Twisted, The Lone Deranger and In Dub, as well as several of his EPs. As Shpongle, Posford will be performing from the duo’s many studio albums including Museum of Consciousness, Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland and the EP The God Particle among others.
