As gigs go, the monthly edition of The Scene has become a top pick on our gig calendars not only because it’s a free-for-all event, but also because it’s brought some of our favorite bands to stage including Mumbai prog metallers Pangea, Chennai garage rock band Skrat and more recently, Kolkata pop rock band Ganesh Talkies.

This week, the fifth edition of the gig series brings Delhi experimental project Tankbund to stage for their Mumbai debut. The band will perform tracks from their self-titled debut album, which they released in June this year. While Varun Gupta was with the band during the recording of the album, he will not be joining the lineup at Blue Frog. The band will be accompanied by Radha Priya (Vocalist and Keyboard) and will also include newest member, Tarana Marwah.

Also performing at the gig are Mumbai-based Unohu, who will play from their upcoming yet-to-be-launched album. Mumbai jam band Something Relevant are also part of the lineup and will preview band new songs such as  “Telephone,” “Glued,” “So Long Goodbye,” “Sirens,” “Longer Than The Usual” and “Leave” from their upcoming album, slated to release next month. STR fans will also get to hear their older material which includes the jazz “Move Yourself,” “Groovy Sense Of Timing” and “Be Real.” “We’re looking to introduce the audience to the original STR lineup, with Rohan Mazumdar on vocals,” says the band’s bassist Tanmay Bhattacherjee.

Mumbai-based harpist and singer/songwriter Nush Lewis will perform an opening set.

The Scene 5.0 will be held at Blue Frog, Mumbai on September 24th. Entry: Free
