Gigs Preview: January 9th ”“ The Metal Saturday

2015 might have ended with the heavy beats of electronic music but the New Year, in comparison, is opening to an intense metal experience. January 9th, the coming Saturday, will witness metal shows with impressive line-ups in four different cities, assuring metal rings loud throughout the country.

 

The second edition of Thunderstorm promises to pull no punches. The gig will be headlined by two metal biggies from Mumbai – death metallers Demonic Resurrection and black metal band Cosmic Infusion. Mumbai-based death metal band Primitiv will launch their seven-track debut album Immortal and Vile at the gig. Other performances include metal act Wrath, Mumbai classic death metallers Killchain, Pune-based doom metal act Dirge, Mumbai based four-piece death metallers Darkrypt and Mumbai progressive metal act Five of Castles.

Thunderstorm Vol. 2.0 takes place at Goa Portuguesa, Thane, 3 pm onward.

Pune residents will get their own share of ”˜tasteful violence’ with the day-long Reverse Scenario gig organised by 6th Element. The lineup consists Delhi groove metal band Undying Inc., Pune metalcore act Dark Helm, Mumbai based brutal death metallers Gutslit, Thiruvananthapuram based thrash metal band Chaos, Pune based thrash / death metal act Halahkuh, Pune death metallers Dead Exaltation and Pune melodeath metal act Last Rituals.

Reverse Scenario takes place at Classic Rock Coffee Co., Pune, 2 pm onward.

Kochi can expect some scandalous notes at this gig with a lineup consisting black metal act Brusque, Bengaluru based acts like experimental death metallers Necrophilia and four-piece black metal act Antakrit, Cherthala based thrash metal band Amorphia, metal act Wings of Varyaag, death metallers Occultism and Pantera tribute band Black Tooth Grin.

Infernal Fest Vol. 1 will take place at Infernal Fields, Kochi, 4 pm onward.

Hyderabad is the fourth city to be bestowed with a day-long metal show. On the bill for this are metal act Asylum, Hyderabad based death metallers Escharified, metal band Vengeance Falls, metal act NBS, Hyderabad four-piece metal act Primal Abuse, old school metal act Vidyut and a guest appearance by Hyderabad thrash / death metallers Perpetual Void.

Dirty Ego Vol: 1 takes place at Houz of Blues, Hyderabad, 6 pm onward.
