Rocklore 2018

Organized by the Abiogenesis Society with support from the North East Council, Shillong, ICCR Shillong Regional Office and Songdew TV, the Rocklore 2018 festival features a lineup that includes progressive jazz duo Wine O’ Clock from Guwahati, Pune folk rock band Fiddle Craft, Imphal-based shoegaze group Lo! Peninsula and a host of other artists.

Parvaaz and Dhruv Visvanath

Don’t miss our May 2018 cover stars, Bengaluru rockers Parvaaz, take the stage and bring their immersive sound live this week. Supporting them is New Delhi acoustic artist Dhruv Visvanath who recently released his critically acclaimed sparkling sophomore album The Lost Cause.

Azadi Records Showcase

Independent record label Azadi Records has always been forward thinking in their approach to provide a platform for South Asian artists to make themselves heard. Their upcoming showcase will feature performances by New Delhi hip-hop star Prabh Deep, producer Sez On The Beat from the capital, Mumbai hip-hop crew Swadesi, Guwahati producer Stunnah Beatz and more.

Mrs. IppI’s Love Life and Melody Album Launch

New Delhi songstress Mrs. Ippi really knows how to bring alive the 1950s in 2018 with her powerful blues and jazz vocals reminiscent of the late great Ella Fitzgerald. The vocalist is slated to perform material off her recently released debut album Love Life and Melody at her upcoming gig. Also, performing an opening set is New Delhi singer-songwriter Hanita Bhambri.

One of the biggest metal festivals in the country, Bangalore Open Air, returns this week featuring a lineup which consists of American thrash metallers Overkill, Dubai death metal group Nervecell, French post-metal outfit Alcest, hometown metal band Kryptos and more.
