They were also joined by other stakeholders in the industry, notably representative giants from Universal Music, Sony Music, Netflix, Warner Music Group, Saavn, Red FM and more.

The organization will employ a unique mix of showcases, awards, youth initiatives and seminars to aid and celebrate female contribution to music in India while strengthening community ties. Ultimately, the WIM aims to advance awareness, equality, diversity, heritage, opportunities and other cultural aspects of women in the musical arts through education, support, empowerment and more importantly, recognition.
“It is an honor to be organizing the first event for Women in Music in India. The WIM team is a powerhouse organization with an inclusive membership, comprising of women from multi-faceted backgrounds,” said Khimani.
