The Irish band will be joined by India's favorite post-rock act, Aswekeepsearching, as they return to India for a three-city tour, including Hibernate Festival in Mumbai
Irish post-rock band God Is An Astronaut have added two more shows to their upcoming visit to India in May and they will now perform in Bengaluru on May 11th and in Delhi NCR on May 12th as part of their Reverse World Tour.
In February, the band was announced to perform at the inaugural edition of post-rock festival Hibernate, taking place on May 10th in Mumbai. While the Mumbai show takes place at Dublin Square, Phoenix Marketcity, the band will perform at WL Superclub in Bengaluru. The Delhi venue is yet to be announced. God Is An Astronaut’s Reverse World Tour of India is produced by Bengaluru-based entertainment management company Bohemian Entertainment, in association with the platform WherePostRockDwells.
An Instagram post for the additional India tour dates from the band states, “We are delighted to confirm the last 2 shows for our tour of India! We hope to see all of you in May!” The band’s Reverse World tour of India will have support in all three cities from India’s pst-rock torchbearers aswekeepsearching.
God Is An Astronaut, the seasoned post-rock torchbearers comprising Niels Kinsella, Torsten Kinsella and Lloyd Hanney are coming back to India for their second show, after headlining Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Pune in 2018. While they released their most recent album Ghost Tapes #10 in 2021, the band is expected to release new music in 2024 along with several shows around the world, including India.
Joining the lineup at Hibernate are post-rock bands like Mushroom Lake and The Reasonable Hope, plus alternative act Corner Café Chronicles and Pune-origin prog band Lotus.
