Easily one of the most awaited albums of the year, Goddess Gagged’s debut album finally has a name, a track list and more importantly, a release date. The ”˜progressive post-hardcore’ act ”“ Sid Basrur on vocals, Arman Menzies and Devesh Dayal on guitars, Krishna Jhaveri on bass and Jeremy D’souza on drums ”“ have announced that the album will be launched on the 19th of November, when they perform at this year’s NH7 Weekender in Pune. Titled Resurfaces, the album is produced, engineered, mixed and mastered by Zorran Mendonsa (Indus Creed, Them Clones, Barefaced Liar, Split) and features seven tracks, including favourites ”˜Rosemary’s Baby’, ”˜Visionary’ and ”˜Sink Or Swim’. The band will stream the album a week before the release date and will be available on CD (in a limited 1500 CD run) and as a digital download.
The artwork for the album has been created by Venkat Raman, guitarist with metal cohorts Bhayank Maut. Explaining the idea behind the cover art, guitarist Devesh Dayal said, “We wanted to make sure our album cover reflected what goes on in our songs. There’s an escape from darkness (the hole in the earth) and a guidance into light by the hand in the back. Working with Venkat Raman was awesome, he really brought the surreal imagery to life“.
The band has already completed shooting a video for first single ”˜Sink Or Swim’.
