Godless Announce New EP ‘Genesis of Decay’ and India, Europe Tour Dates

Death/thrash metallers now have Shillong artist Nangsan Lyngwa on vocals and Chennai drummer Nikhil Rajkumar in the fold for a 23-show run between April and May 2025

Hyderabad-origin death/thrash metal band Godless will release a new EP Genesis of Decay on Apr. 4, 2025 and head out on a tour across India and Europe right after, marking a new era of sorts for the relentless act.

The five-track EP includes their 2024 single “Amorphous Mass” and follows the 2021 album States of Chaos. It will be the first to feature their new lineup, featuring Shillong metal artist Nangsan Lyngwa (formerly of death metallers Plague Throat) on vocals and Chennai-origin drummer Nikhil Rajkumar (part of Bengaluru metal band Ksetravid and also a recent entrant to Mumbai extreme metallers Demonic Resurrection). The band is completed by bassist and founder Abbas Razvi and guitarist Moiz Mustafa.

It was in July 2024 that Godless announced longtime vocalist Kaushal L.S.’s departure, with the growler stating it was time to explore “new personal and artistic horizons.” It was a similar decision for drummer Vishnu Reddy, who formally announced his exit in December 2024. Razvi says their new EP was originally intended as a full-length album, but lineup changes led to them focusing on shortening it to an EP to release it in time with their India and Europe shows. He adds, “Nikhil and Nangsan were super pressed for time with this and had to compose their parts on short notice because of the deadlines we had set with the engineer and also our release plan. We’re super happy with how things came out and are excited to release this because it feels like some of our strongest work till date.”

Godless’ India tour kicks off on Apr. 4, 2025, in Hyderabad and stops by Mumbai (Apr. 6), Chennai (Apr. 11), Kochi (Apr. 12), Bengaluru (Apr. 13), New Delhi (Apr. 18), Pune (Apr. 20). From Apr. 24, 2025 onwards, Godless start their Europe run of shows in Portugal at the SWR Barroselas Metalfest, followed by shows across Spain (from Apr. 26 to May 7), France (May 8 in Rennes), Germany (May 9 in Nurtingen and May 13 in Kiel), Luxembourg (May 10) and Belgium (May 11).

Lyngwa, who was previously performed with Plague Throat at Wacken Open Air in Germany in 2014, is aware that he’s got big shoes to fill. He adds, “Prep has been good so far and I can’t wait to hit the road. I hope I do justice in delivering and will always give my best in bringing more energy into the band.”

With the current lineup, Godless are three shows old and Razvi is candid when he says “it was a bit rough” to settle into things. Lyngwa says about their first few shows, “It’s been fun, surreal, challenging and it has also pushed my limits. The crowd’s energy in all these shows has been exhilarating and uplifting.”

Genesis of Decay will have a single out on Feb. 5 and a music video for another single out before the EP drops in April. The EP art is by illustrator Johnny Doe Art and is mixed and mastered by Lawrency Mackrory. Razvi adds, “Following this we’ll come back and get cracking with some new material for the next release and also look at playing a few shows in cities we would’ve missed out on with the first promo India tour.”

Genesis of Decay EP tracklist

  1. “Amorphous Mass”
  2. “Doctrine of Hate”
  3. “Silent Oppression”
  4. “Prologue to Dissent”
  5. “Echoes of Collapse”
