The Hollywood Foreign Press Association handed out Golden Globe awards to the best in TV and film on Sunday night
Awards season has officially begun! On Sunday, the biggest names in Hollywood gathered for the 2024 Golden Globe Awards. Comedian Joy Koy was tapped to serve as host.
Shows and movies, including Killers of the Flower Moon, Poor Things, Succession, The Last of Us, The Bear, and Only Murders in the Building, are hoping to take home some of the night’s biggest prizes. And on the music side of things, Barbie has three tracks up for the award, with “I’m Just Ken,” “Dance the Night,” and “What Was I Made For?” included among the list of nominees.
Earlier this year, Dick Clark Productions purchased the Golden Globes, and all its assets, from the scandal-plagued Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The acquisition signaled a “winddown” (as it was put in a statement at the time) of the HFPA and its membership, with the Globes transitioning from a non-profit enterprise to a commercial one. Dick Clark Productions is owned by Rolling Stone’s parent company, Penske Media Corporation, in partnership with the holding company Eldridge.
