GOT7 Drop New Album and Fantasy-Fueled Music Video for ‘Lullaby’

The South Korean septet weave through the world of dreams and fiction in their latest release

South Korean group GOT7 have unveiled the dreamy new music video for “Lullaby,” the lead single off their third studio album Present: YOU which dropped earlier today.

The video features each of GOT7’s members slipping into and exploring a different fantasy land; some of the imagery includes what seems to be a likeness of the flying car from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, talking teddy bears, magical mirages in the middle of a desert and a hidden universe behind bookshelves–just to name a few.

The individual clips of the members are interspersed with group shots of them performing the track’s fast-paced choreography while alternating between dark and light sets. Highlights include youngest member and main dancer Yugyeom’s powerful dance break before the final refrain, vibrant foliage springing up in rapper Mark’s footsteps and vocalist Jinyoung cruising amidst clouds in the powder-blue vintage car.

“Lullaby” is a fascinating combination of house, funk and synth-pop, changing rhythmical pace several times–the track starts with slow synth-pop before leading into a deceptive house pre-chorus and hitting the listener with a funky bass chorus. The song is an ode to a lover’s voice and is featured on the album in four different languages: Korean, English, Chinese and Spanish.

Present: YOU also features solo tracks written and co-produced by each member which were introduced through short video clips throughout the past week; vocalist and producer Youngjae’s “Nobody Knows,” rapper Jackson’s “Made It,” leader and vocalist JB’s “Sunrise,” rapper BamBam’s “Party,” Jinyoung’s “My Youth,” Mark’s “OMW” and Yugyeom’s “Fine.” Each track and video are extremely different, highlighting the septet’s individual musical styles and talents.
