Delhi hardcore band will perform new material at the RSMA Delhi pre-gig and final awards night
Even though vocalist Dayus Madhan jokes that Grammy Winning Effort will be the “least metal band performing at the metal awards” the Delhi hardcore band promise to put on a slam-dance riot at the seventh edition of the G-Shock Rolling Stone Metal Awards 2016 on February 28th at Hard Rock Cafe, Worli. The hardcore band will return to Mumbai nearly a year after their festival set at metal festival BIG69 in January 2015.
Grammy Winning Effort released their debut self-titled album in October last year, but already have newer material up their sleeve for both, the Mumbai finale and the Delhi pre-gig on February 18th. The band is also planning to throw in a cover or two. Says Madhan, “We were thinking of doing ”˜99 Red Balloons’ by [American punk band] Goldfinger [originally by German New Wave band Nena] or a tribute to [Motorhead frontman] Lemmy with ”˜Ace of Spades’.”
Never one to shy away from talking about his love for rap music or actor Charlie Sheen, Madhan paints a picture of their RSMA debut saying, “Grammy Winning Effort is generally a band that you have a few beers for and come.” Also on the bill are “lots of jokes as well”¦ very distasteful jokes.”
Grammy Winning Effort will play at:
