Prabh Deep, Bombay Bassment, Sambata, Lisa Mishra and more will also perform on Oct. 26 and 27
American hip-hop star Pusha T will make his India debut at the two-day hip-hop and pop music festival Gully Fest in Mumbai, taking place on Oct. 26 and 27.
Gully Fest – which was kickstarted by Mumbai hip-hop star DIVINE in 2018 – will also see the “Baazigar” hitmaker take the stage as headliner. The lineup includes DIVINE, Punjabi hip-hop artist Prabh Deep, hip-hop band Bombay Bassment, Mumbai rappers Yashraj, Gravity and The Siege, pop artist Lisa Mishra, Shillong-origin rapper Reble, Marathi rap star Sambata, Gully Gang All Stars, plus DJ Proof, DJ Kan-I and OG Shez, alongside the firepower duo Beatraw and D-Cypher.
Pusha T aka Terrence LeVarr Thornton, who first rose to fame as part of the hip-hop duo Clipse, is best known for songs like “Trouble On My Mind,” “Dreamin of the Past” and collaborations with the likes of Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Linkin Park, DJ Khaled and more. In 2021, Pusha T appeared with DIVINE and Vince Staples on “Jungle Mantra,” the song for Netflix movie The White Tiger.
While early bird tickets for the festival are already sold out, general sale tickets for Gully Fest in Mumbai go live today on Insider.in. Ticket prices in phase one start from ₹1,299 for the general admission festival pass and ₹3,299 for a VIP festival pass.
DIVINE says in a statement, “It really was all a dream, to see how far we’ve come as a movement, to see so many take up the mic & a pen, to see how our music has traveled so far and wide in India & beyond. Gully Fest is a celebration of that, we want to bring down global rap icons to India, to highlight the best of Indian Hip-Hop and to platform upcoming artists.”
In addition to the day-long music programming across two days, Gully Fest, taking place at NESCO Center in Goregaon, will feature “a variety of installations and experience zones, including a graffiti wall, skate ramp, interactive boombox and yearbook photo booth at its second edition,” a press release adds.
Following the Mumbai edition kicking off in October, “exciting future announcements” from DIVINE’s Gully Gang are in the works, including the launch of Gully Fest in more major cities across India, continuing the momentum of the movement.
