On March 11, 2026, Women in Film India (WIF), the Guneet Monga Kapoor-backed non-profit organization, launched a scholarship in collaboration with impACT Lab, an industry program of the Marché du Film, Cannes, that empowers emerging producers through knowledge-sharing workshops.

Open to enterprising female producers from all over India who have produced at least two short films and are working on their first feature, the scholarship will select two candidates to participate in the film market at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival, 2026.

Reflecting on this, Monga Kapoor, founder and CEO of WIF India, stated: “International festivals have been transformative spaces in my own journey as a producer, and this scholarship is about ensuring that more women get the chance to bring their stories, their voices and their projects into those rooms.”

Designed to deepen global perspectives on co-production systems, creative pathways, and social messaging in film, the program aims to provide interactive, accessible and immersive platforms for Indian producers to accelerate their careers. If selected, the candidates will have the opportunity to partake in key online workshops through the month of April and network with key decision makers from the Producer’s Network at the film festival in May.

Rabia Chopra, the programming and development head at Women in Film India, said in a statement that this initiative would help “bring together mentorship, access, and global industry exposure,” adding that, “For many women producers in India, meaningful engagement with the international co-production ecosystem can be limited.”

Currently, applications are open for registered members of WIF, with participants required to submit a pitch deck with details outlining the director’s note, producer’s note, synopsis, treatment, budget, and viewing links of previous works.
