In a collaboration that bridges generations, Punjabi artists Babbu Maan and Guru Randhawa’s “Pagal” pairs dancefloor-friendly beats with sublime vocals and romantic lyrics.

Maan, who has been active since the late Nineties and had several hits like “Mittran Di Chhatri,” “Kabza” and “Pakki Kanak” to his name for sticking by a traditional Punjabi folk sound, turns to pop with Randhawa. Together, they’ve worked as singers, lyricists and composers on “Pagal,” whose music video is shot in the arid deserts of Rajasthan in a fully filmy style. Directed by Mihir Gulati, the video sees female protagonists whom Maan and Randhawa woo with their declaration of love, plus dancers. Among the best visual elements, however, is the red convertible that Randhawa and Maan drive into the desert, like two friends on a new mission.

Guru Randhawa said in a statement that working with a beloved artist like Maan on “Pagal” “still feels like a dream.” The High Rated Gabru hitmaker adds, “Working alongside such an iconic figure has been an incredible honor and a major highlight of my career. ‘Pagal’ is not just a song; it’s a musical journey where Babbu Maan’s voice blends with my composition, creating an unforgettable experience for our listeners.” Speaking about what would draw listeners to the song, Randhawa says, “The fusion of Punjabi beats with contemporary sounds makes the track special, resonating with fans from across the globe. The lyrics tell their own story, pulsating with emotion, transforming ‘Pagal’ into a musical narrative.”

Maan, for his part, says in his statement, “Guru is a prominent name in promoting Punjabi music on the global stage, and collaborating with him for ‘Pagal’ has been an unforgettable memory. The song’s emotional depth and infectious beats will resonate deeply with listeners, leaving a lasting mark in their hearts and playlists. I’m happy with the fans’ response to this song and I’m looking forward to more such collaborations.”

“Pagal” is released via T-Series, who have also been working with hip-hop artists like Amravati rapper 100 RBH, pop-rock act Faridkot and more, along with their expected big-banner film soundtracks.
