Gutslit to Join Dying Fetus on Select European Tour Dates

The Mumbai brutal death metallers are on the bill with the American death metal veterans for three club shows in Germany and Poland, plus In Flammen Open Air

For anyone who’s seen Mumbai brutal death metallers Gutslit over the years, you’d know the only cover they like to throw in is “Kill Your Mother, Rape Your Dog” by American death metal act Dying Fetus. The 86-second song has always been Gutslit’s way of tipping their hat to the veterans of the genre.

Now, they’ll go one up and play in direct support of Dying Fetus on select dates in Europe this July. “Forgetting having a bucket list, it’s like the bucket itself. You cannot ask for a bigger thing,” Gutslit bassist and founder Gurdip Singh Narang says with a laugh. Gutslit, who will embark on their Butchering Europe headline tour with German counterparts Placenta Powerfist from June 22nd to July 9th, join Dying Fetus on July 11th in Kassel, July 12th in Essen and July 13th in Torgau (at metal gathering In Flammen Open Air) in Germany and on July 14th in Warsaw, Poland. “There might be a fifth date as well,” Narang adds, mentioning that the booking was in the works for about six months. Dying Fetus’ Europe tour also includes support from top-tier acts such as hardcore band Terror and industrial metallers Ministry. Interestingly, Dying Fetus have previously toured with Mumbai metallers Systemhouse33 in 2016.

But it’s certainly a long time coming for Gutslit, who have been touring overseas regularly after the release of 2013’s Skewered in the Sewer. Narang, who has never got the chance to see Dying Fetus live yet, says, “We’re all excited like kids being taken to a candy store and told we can take whatever we want. Everything we’ve done to date is on the basis of our music. It’s not a buy-on. We didn’t shoot up into fame overnight. Consistently, things have built up.”

It’s also an important stage for Gutslit to present new material they’ve been working on for the follow-up to their 2017 album Amputheatre, to set things up for future opportunities. Narang says, “The album is being record for a 2020 release. Time is going to tell what we can do.”
