Hear Producer Alpha Hex and Singer-Songwriter Alia Faye’s Shimmering New Collab ‘Find You’
The Hyderabad artist and the Bay Area-based vocalist create a club-friendly song that also offers emotive lyrics
The first collaboration between Hyderabad-based producer Alpha Hex aka Siddarth Ponangi and San Francisco-based singer-songwriter Alia Faye, “Find You,” walks the line between emotional pop and potential club banger.
Alpha Hex, who released his previous Indo-U.S. collaboration “Fall With Me” with producer Faithroze in May, was contacted by Faye after he’d posted an instrumental version of “Find You” to his Instagram stories. “Alia replied to it saying she had an amazing idea for it – that’s when we first fully established a conversation. After a couple of weeks, she’d sent me an email of a vocal demo on the track and I was totally mind blown,” Ponangi says.
Faye, for her part, says storytelling drove the lyric writing process for “Find You.” She adds, “Constantly searching for that special someone is indeed a journey, and the music paired so well with its epic and larger-than-life sound.”
Released via Dutch label Tribal Trap, “Find You” was Alpha Hex’s turn at creating a “club-friendly” record after often being asked why he hadn’t tried out that palette of sounds. “I think this is the sound I want to carry forward that translates well musically and also commercially,” he adds.
Up next, there are more label-aided releases for Alpha Hex in August and September, including two more with Faye. Ponangi says, “I’m really focusing on collaborating with my friends, making good music, getting my name out there and telling lots of more stories.”
