New Delhi folk-rock band Chaar Hazaari deliver their buoyant, feel-good best with their new song “Ki Tum Ho,” which released on July 3rd.

Part of their upcoming second album Udne Do, the five-member band combines lilting classical flute (Shivit Prasanna) and vocal (Yatindra Mohan Patel) elements with pleasant rock arrangements, courtesty keyboardist Utkarsh Mallik, drummer Shailendra Shukla and bassist Archit Agrawal.

Formed in 2012, Chaar Hazaari have often hit it big in the college circuit across India for their crowdpleasing tunes, like their 2017 self-titled debut album. “Ki Tum Ho,” with its beckoning reassurances, is the band’s way of counting their blessings. The band says in a press statement, “It comes from the realization that there is a person in everyone’s life whose presence is enough to fight for the future. Even in times like these, with a global pandemic going on with no end date, it is your will to rekindle your love with that person, be it a friend, family or a partner.”

The eight-track album Udne Do will be expected later this year, prefaced by more singles that are “narrating the theme of the album before the album itself releases.” The band adds, “We collectively want to help you uplift yourself beyond the boundaries of society, feeling the happiness of being with that person you spent your life dreaming about. The band believes that they spent their music writing process fantasizing that perfect life and writing their dreams and tales through music.”
