Hear Kanye West’s House-Influenced Song, ‘Fade’
Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone appear on new track that debuted during New York Fashion Week
Like he did in February with the melancholy “Wolves,” Kanye West debuted a new track at a runway show during New York’s Fashion Week. “Fade” features Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone and samples house classics “Can You Feel It” by Mr. Fingers and “Deep Inside” by Harddrive as well as Rare Earth’s cover of the Temptations’ “(I Know) I’m Losing You.”
West debuted his Adidas collection Yeezy Season 2 at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday and livestreamed the show to theaters around the world. “Fade” has a more dynamic and less melancholy sound than “Wolves,” due largely to its house influence. Pitchfork confirmed the title following the show, while Post Malone confirmed his and Ty Dolla $ign’s contributions to the new track via Twitter.
While West confirmed SWISH as the title of his new album, he has yet to unveil a release date or more details. The rapper-producer has mostly remained silent on his highly anticipated follow-up to 2013’s Yeezus, though he had an active start to the year with the release of “FourFiveSeconds,” “Only One,” “All Day” and the aforementioned “Wolves.” Along with the contributors to “Fade,” other notable names attached to SWISH include Rihanna, Vic Mensa, Kendrick Lamar, Sia and Paul McCartney.
