Kesha and Zedd’s “True Colors” has been released a day early. The song is Kesha’s first single since 2013’s “Timber” off Pitbull’s Meltdown.

The pair debuted the track during the singer’s surprise appearance during Zedd’s Coachella set on the first weekend of the California music festival. The EDM artist released a Kesha-less version of the song last year on his album of the same name, which featured Rock Mafia’s Tim James on lead vocals. The lyrics remain the same on Kesha’s take, though the style is more grandiose. “I won’t apologize/For the fire in my eyes/Let me show you my/My true colors,” Kesha belts on the song’s chorus. “It ain’t your rainbow.”

The song will be available for purchase and streaming Friday, as announced earlier this week on Rolling Stone. Zedd confirmed that the release of the song is not done through any loopholes. “Kemosabe/RCA gave us permission to release this song,” he wrote on Twitter, referring to the stipulations of Kesha’s deal with herand Dr. Luke, whom she has accused of sexual abuse and been entangled in a lengthy legal battle with. “Thanks for the clarification,” Dr. Luke responded.

Zedd showed support for Kesha soon after a judge denied the singer’s injunction against Dr. Luke. “Very very sorry to hear about your whole situation,” he tweeted at the singer. “I’ll be happy to produce a song for you if you want my help.”

While previewing their collaboration, Kesha captioned a photo of her recording “True Colors” with a caption displaying her gratitude for Zedd’s support. “It’s a miracle when someone gives you a chance at finding your voice again with no reason other than that he is a fucking beautiful person with a heart of gold.”
