Hear Lana Del Rey’s Dreamy ‘Music to Watch Boys To’

“I like you a lot,” singer croons on atmospheric ‘Honeymoon’ track

Lana Del Rey doesn’t release her new LP Honeymoon until September 18th, but the singer unveiled her fourth album’s latest single “Music to Watch Boys To” on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show Wednesday afternoon. Calling the track one of her “favorites” on the album, Del Rey’s dreamy slow-burner finds her echoing on the chorus, “I like you a lot / So I do what you want” over a sparse, atmospheric beat.

On Lowe’s show, Del Rey also revealed that “Music to Watch Boys To,” a collaboration with “Summertime Sadness” co-writer Rick Boyles, was originally her choice for Honeymoon’s first single before her label opted for the poppy, hypnotic “High By the Beach,” The Fader reports. This latest album cut also joins the previously released “Terrence Loves You” and the strings-laden title track. Del Rey’s 14-track Honeymoon will close with a cover of Nina Simone’s “Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood.”

In January, following the release of her Golden Globes-nominated “Big Eyes,” Del Rey spoke to the Los Angeles Times about “Music to Watch Boys To” and how she sees her music as much as she hears it. “I can see it and I can hear it. I’m working on a new record now, and I have this one song, ‘Music to Watch Boys To.’ The title lends itself to a visual of shadows of men passing by, this girl’s eyes, her face. I can definitely see things,” Del Rey said.

“Music to Watch Boys To” will be released on iTunes on September 11th.
