Hear Savages’ Vicious New Song ‘T.I.W.Y.G.’

Track will appear on British post-punk band's sophomore LP, 'Adore Life'

Savages have followed up their first Adore Life single, “The Answer” with the vicious, rapid “T.I.W.Y.G.” The British post-punk band’s sophomore album will be out on January 22nd via Matador.

On the new track, lead singer Jehnny Beth repeats “this is what you get when you mess with love” over the increasingly aggressive guitar and drums. It follows the propulsive “The Answer,” which had Beth singing “love is the answer.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Beth noted that Adore Life would be a more intense follow-up to the band’s powerful 2013 debut Silence Yourself. “We wanted to write the hardest, most extreme songs we could every write,” she said in May, noting that they had been sequestered in a tiny studio in Primrose Hill, North London while making the album. “But the room was really small so we started to write ballads. We were like, ‘What the fuck is going on?’ We had to move out eventually.”
