#HeyMrDJ – May 2022 Picks ft Cassara, Telykast, Anish Kumar and More

Each month, we cast a spotlight on notable/up-and-coming DJs and producers, and the hot tracks and remixes that kept us moving and grooving.

Published by

April kept the energy springing high with killer Top 40 mixes, dance-floor-ready club mixes and DJ originals blasting onto the charts and across the globe. Booker T continued his resurgence this time with “Brother Brother” by Michael Gray featuring Kimberly Brown, while a Satin Jackets staple “Girl, Forever” got a 2022 jolt thanks to a killer remix from CASSARA.

Pete K released quite possibly his best record yet with “Rubicon” while Ben Rau mesmerized us with “Calling Out Your Name (I Can’t Sleep).” Top 40 remixes crossed over onto the mainstage set for Jennifer Lopez who teamed up with TELYKast for “On My Way (Marry Me)” while R3hab does his work on Tyga and Doja Cat’s smash hit “Freaky Deaky.”

Probably one of the finest tracks this month is 22-year-old Anish Kumar’s debut single “Hummingbird,” which is likely to garner the young British-Indian producer a lot of fans after his breakout last year on “Blackpool Boulevard” with Barry Can’t Swim.

Another young recent breakout, Ollie Crowe, continues his hit streak after giving us anthems like “Digital Love” and “Pressure” already. His latest, “Thoughts Of You” featuring Bromage and Vigil on vocals, is yet another euphoric gem that even stands a chance of cracking the pop charts if given the right push.

Meanwhile, as far as collabs go, Gorgon City and Damian Lazarus come together in the most natural of ways for “Start Over,” which they premiered earlier this month, featuring Leia Contios on vocals. The house track has tribal vibes and is likely to win over clubgoers all over the world. Ditto for “Sweet Memories” by CID and Kaskade, which gets the perfect remix courtesy of Black V Neck. The mix manages to resonate as strongly if not stronger than the original and for a Kaskade original, that’s saying something!

Keeping the vibe going just in time for Ibiza season is Jamie Jones, who brings a retro-disco groove with an early-aughts swag on “My Paradise.” The single is likely to be a monster hit on the island and across summer beach clubs everywhere.

With so many tracks to get you going, let’s get straight to the month’s picks for the #HEYMRDJ playlist.
