Check out the list that includes bangers by the likes of Tiesto and Benny Benassi
Each month, we cast a spotlight on the notable/up-and-coming DJs and producers and the hot tracks and remixes that kept us moving and grooving.
May found several A-list DJs claiming their spot at the top again as festivals and summer club seasons are officially on, while rising stars made their impact felt with supercharged summer smashes in the making.
The iconic Tiesto put his own spin on the international collab smash “Voodoo” by India’s own Badshah and J. Balvin, while also bringing the classic “You Got The Love” back to the dance floor this time courtesy of Pete Tong and the always-reliable vocals of Becky Hill. MEDUZA also brought us a memorable remix of “Brividi” by Mahmood and BLANCO, sure to get folks moving.
The always-reliable Benny Benassi brought us “Lightwaves” with the help of one of our favorite dance voices these days, Anabel Englund. Also, Henri PFR collaborated with ROZES, this time with the help of KSHMR, for what deserves to be a crossover hit with “Bed.”
A couple of VIP mixes courtesy of the DJs themselves made the month even more exciting. Alesso’s own mix for his latest “Words” featuring Zara Larsson helped elevate the song from Top 40 to the festival stages and ditto for “What Would You Do?”, the Joel Corry and David Guetta collaboration featuring Bryson Tiller.
Disco is ever so hot still thanks to solid numbers from Declain with “Disco Champ” and Purple Disco Machine’s oh-so-perfect remix of Lizzo’s latest, “About Damn Time”. Heavyweights like Robin Schulz (alongside David Guetta) and Armin van Buuren continue to show how it’s done with “On Repeat” and “Feel Again” respectively.
At the same time we have killer original tracks by Mark Sixma and Willem de Roo whose “Revolt” is a revelation. Ditto for Brooks and Mo Falk’s “Take My Breath Away” which also has strong crossover potential.
Top 40 remixes continue to be on the decline but thankfully beyond Lizzo, we also have Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa’s smash hit “Sweetest Pie” getting the club feel courtesy of the one and only David Guetta.
With so many tracks to get you going, let’s go straight to the month’s picks for the #HEYMRDJ playlist. It’s summer now, so the list has extended from the usual 20 to 30!
