Hip-Hop Collective Dreamteam Host New Live Show, Terminal 2

Following the release of their collaborative series Dreamteam Sessions in May this year, hip-hop collective Dreamteam will bring their multi-art set to a live audience for the first time on November 10^th at a gig titled Terminal 2 (T2). Mumbai rapper and Dreamteam co-founder Ankur Johar aka Enkore explains that the show is based on the idea of introducing more people to hip-hop culture. He says, “It’s about the fact that we’re taking hip-hop to places and taking people who are not in a place of hip-hop to it.”

Apart from Enkore, T2 will feature Dreamteam members and Mumbai-based rappers Dhaval Parab aka D’evil and Rahul ‘BLUnt’ Dhande. The event will also witness some ambient electronic music from Mumbai producer Wide Octaves, psychedelic, trap-influenced beats from DJ Sinista and blues-based rock from singer-songwriter Dinkar Dwivedi aka Bone Broke. “There’s going to be fusion music all through the night,” says Enkore about working with such diverse artists. He adds, “It’s not just about rap or just about hip hop. At the end of the day, we are all musicians and I feel that, very often, that gets overlooked and kind of put us into smaller pockets and smaller holes.”

T2 is also Dreamteam’s big step towards programming their own live shows. “It’s an effort to take control of our music and not be at the mercy of random organizers and venues,” says Enkore. The show will also feature, according to him, “a game and interactive exhibition” by photographer Kedar Amburle. “It’s”¦ like a magical place of good vibes,” he says with a laugh, unwilling to give away too many details. “There’s going to be a lot of energy because of the hip-hop and a lot of soul, a lot of depth.”

Terminal 2 will provide a glimpse into each artist’s solo projects as well; while Wide Octaves will launch his new EP Losing My Mind at the show, D’evil will premiere his new single “Kadki” live. The gig also marks the first anniversary of Enkore’s debut album Libra Scale. Plus it will feature a preview of the second Dreamteam Sessions episode which will feature both Bone Broke and Wide Octaves as guests.

Terminal 2 will take place on Thursday, November 10^th 2016 at The Cuckoo Club, Mumbai.
