Mumbai rapper launches new self-produced live jam series

Ankur Johar aka Enkore’s already established himself as an ace multitasker–the Mumbai-based rapper balances his music career with a day job in digital media company, preps for his M.B.A and records sessions for [hip hop podcast] Voice of Tha People. The latest project on his platter is a live jam hip-hop series titled ‘Dreamteam Sessions’, which, as he explains in the video, brings together members of the eponymous hip-hop collective with other musicians.
The first installment of the series sees Enkore join fellow rapper D’Evil aka Dhaval Parab, guitarist Gaurang Bailoor, singer Vasudhaa Narayanan and music producer ‘Sinista’ on a R&B-meets-rap jam. Narayanan takes on a more soulful version [New Zealand-based vocalist] Kimbra’s clap-along pop single “Settle Down”, while Enkore and D’Evil interject to spit verse against a before Bailoor dives in for a neat solo.
Enkore, who promises the video is the first of many to come in the series, released his autobiographical debut album Libra Scale last year, which thematically revolves around Johar’s traits as a Libran and finding balance in life.
