There’s simply no denying that Blackpink are global superstars and their latest album “Born Pink” is worth the hype. The pick of the lot is “Yeah YeahYeah” where K-pop goes the way of 80s new wave, making for a record that will likely be their biggest hit yet if released (they better!). Of course, there are countless singles released this week that may get lost in the shuffle but still deserve our attention. Here is this edition of Hits of Tomorrow – the should-be hits of the current week.

“I’m So Happy” – Jeremy Zucker, BENEE

Halfway through the month and with autumn just a few days away, we have a bright sunny single to kick off this week’s column. Jeremy Zucker’s “I’m So Happy” featuring BENEE is just the right track to keep us basking even as temperatures drop. The ironic twist the song brings when Zucker sings about wishing not to be with “someone” makes the track all the more clever, and one that should appeal to Top 40 listeners across the globe without a hitch. BENEE’s contribution makes the single pop even cooler. A hit!

“Nothing Lasts Forever” – Dylan

Suffolk-born singer-songwriter Dylan has released what is for sure her best track yet with “Nothing Lasts Forever.” The song has the potential to be a huge career step forward for the talent as its melody and lyrical chaos make for a perfect smash for radio and on Top 40, not just in her homeland but across the globe.

“All Kings” – Bipolar Sunshine

With the release of the album “3034,” Bipolar Sunshine returns to make soul music that hurts us but also makes us have to move. “All Kings” is the standout track from the new record and I’m glad they are hyping the single on numerous streaming playlists. Criminally underrated, the single has the potential to really give the artist a chance to finally deliver a mainstream hit without the need for a DJ collaboration. This is a slow-burn single, but worth the wait.

“Sacred Symphony” – Barney Artist, Mr Jukes

Anxiety can affect the best of us, but thankfully Barney Artist seems to be taking it in his stride and with “Sacred Symphony,” potentially one of the best singles Artist has released, here’s hoping there is just joy and plenty of repeat listens. Alternative soul and hip-hop have always been two of my favorite genres because I feel like there is such a large audience missing out on the talent. This single is a chance to get radio to play a style that we desperately need to support across stations and playlists. A must listen.

“Overgrown” – YAZ

Probably one of her of strongest singles to date and most definitely her best vocal performance, YAZ’s “Overgrown” is a rich pop-soul single that feels current despite production that is laced in early 2000s nostalgia. The single is a great return to form for the talent who has always tried to stay clear of that “pop girl” image by making clever song choices and garnishing each single with a slightly off-mainstream vibe. Of course, that’s what makes this single such a vibe.

“I Feel It In The Wind” – Smith &Thell

One of Sweden’s most talented duos Smith &Thell return with “I Feel It In The Wind” – yet another infectious, far-too-melodious single that reminds us for the umpteenth time that no matter where you go in the world (and yes, I’ll even say Korea!), there is no better place in the world for pure pop than Stockholm. The single is quirky enough for me to hear it on heavy rotation. Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait a few albums in order to appreciate the pleasantness of the band.

Even More Hits!
