Holi-Themed Music Festivals To Watch Out For This Weekend

Take your pick from the many colorful festivals happening this Holi weekend, when artists ranging from Polish singer Anna Maria Jopek to Desi bass king Nucleya hit stages around the country

Over the course of the past few years, the festival of Holi has gone from simply being about smearing colors and blasting Bollywood music from cheap speakers to any festival junkie’s seventh heaven. If you’re wondering which of the plethora of music festivals happening this long weekend to attend, check out this list we’ve compiled to help you out.

Holi Moo! Festival, Holi Moo Barn, Asiad Village Lawns, New Delhi, March 13th

The country’s longest-running Holi-centric music festival is back with a lineup comprising over 40 multi-genre artists across four stages. Formerly known as Holi Cow Festival, the New Delhi-based event features the likes of Polish singer Anna Maria Jopek, experimental rock band Man.Goes Human from New Delhi, DJ/producer Kohra, tropical-pop French band Bo Bun Fever and more.

High Holi Festival, The Westin Lawns, Koregaon Park, Pune, March 12th ”“ March 13th

Popular music venue The High Spirits Café is back for the fourth edition of the High Holi Festival. The festival will be held over two days at The Westin Lawns, which are directly adjacent to The High Spirits Café. Indie artists such as singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad, rock outfit Parvaaz, acoustic group Ankur & The Ghalat Family and Hindi rock band The Local Train will take the stage on day one. The next day features performances by Mumbai hip-hop artist Divine and electronic acts Dub Sharma,  Su Real and Dualist Inquiry.

Color Fiesta, Laxmi Lawns, Magarpatta City, Pune, March 13th

Color Fiesta’s mission is to spread the message of belonging and promote community participation. A complimentary color packet will be given to attendees upon entry; it is also a Holi festival without any water wastage. The acts slated to perform at the day-long festival include electronic music producer and DJ Nucleya, underground DJ/producer Smokey, Bollywood/house desi diva DJ Rink, trap DJ Aveedo and more.

Holi Nation, Janamashtmi Park, New Delhi, March 13th

Get ready to be drenched in EDM euphoria and organic powdered colors at this year’s Holi Nation festival. The lineup features electronic duo Progressive Brothers, DJ Myris and progressive house artist Octave.  Other attractions at the festival include dhol players, a rain dance and bull riding.

Additional Events

You can also celebrate the festival of colors this Monday with English progressive trance group Above & Beyond at their Holi Reloaded 2017 event at JVPD Ground, Juhu in Mumbai. For an eco-friendly Holi celebration head to amusement park Essel World and water theme park Water Kingdom in Mumbai, which will host performances by Bollywood singer Shibani Kashyap and electronic artist DJ Karma.
