The last time we heard of Hoobastank was when The Hangover star Zach Galifianakis took a swipe at the Southern California rock band on Saturday Night Live in 2010. Later last year, Jennel Garcia, a top contestant on The X Factor performed Hoobastank’s 2004 hit “The Reason” and was sent home. While that may not have worked out so well for Hoobastank, who also made it to the ROLLING STONE Artists To Watch Out for list in 2002 alongside Norah Jones and John Mayer, fans will be happy to know that the band will be in India later this month to perform in Shillong.

The Nineties band will play their debut India show at the sixth anniversary celebrations of the news and arts magazine, The North East Today. Hoobastank has seen a few lineup changes including bassist Markku Lappalainen leaving the band in 2005. The four-member band fronted by Doug Robb has been actively touring to promote their last album Fight or Flight, playing shows organized by the United Service Organization for American troops across the world including Iraq. Most recently, the band has been busy with The Guitar Center Sessions in Los Angeles.

Hoobastank are scheduled to perform at the Polo Ground in Shillong on June 29th.
