#YoursToTake appears to be a journey to pursue your dreams. How difficult has it been for you to turn your vision into action while remaining true to yourself?

Budweiser’s latest campaign #YoursToTake emphasizes how one must chase their passion because beyond the tunnel of apprehensions, the world truly is #YoursToTake. Hence, when I first heard about the campaign, I instantly resonated with it as I have recently made a major shift in my life to be true to myself and my vision. I dropped out of a line of work that was making me a lot of money but wasn’t artistically satisfying. I knew what I wanted to build for myself, and I went for it with complete passion.

What do you think about the initiative, and why do you think it’s the best global campaign?

It’s very easy to lose yourself in all the noise we are constantly surrounded by. We are processing multiple inputs at all times, and to really get where we want to go, we need to understand who we are. #YoursToTake reminds you about how if you want something you can have it, provided you work towards it. All the artists connected to the campaign are proof that hard work, perseverance, and belief in yourself will take you where you want to go.

Tell us more about your association with Budweiser

Budweiser has been an enabler in shaping the music and art culture in India. It is associated with some of the coolest festivals organized across the country including DGTL, Magnetic Fields, Echoes of Earth.

The brand has a knack for identifying and empowering artists that believe in how the world is #YoursToTake no matter the challenges one faces in life. Through this campaign, Budweiser helped us with a platform to put forth our life stories in front of the world and inspire consumers.

To me, this is a great example of a brand doing things in the right way. For me to work with a brand, we need to understand and respect each other on multiple levels. My communication with Bud has been heartwarming and energizing. I’m excited to see how this relationship develops.

Do you think valuing ambition, authenticity, and freedom comes with a price to pay?

Absolutely. For me it has been both very easy and very tough to navigate through these waters. Easy because I am very clear about what I want. Tough because the path to that point is not one that is absolutely straight.

Give us some nuggets about your just released EP ‘Serpentine’

‘Serpentine’ was written and produced during the monsoons in Goa, without my studio, with very little gear, on a pair of trusted headphones. The track Trouble In Paradise has been built around a voice note sent to me on WhatsApp by my artist friend Gaya, talking about the monsoon mold and humidity which is so bad for our electronic equipment.

I have been getting some great feedback from peers and Artists and I’m super excited to be playing this new material and experiment further on the dancefloor

What is the significance of setting your own standards of success

We absolutely must take the time to tune out the noise, to tune in to ourselves, and to define what is it that makes ushappy. One size rarely fits all, so find or create the fit that is tailor-made for you, and live your life by the standards you set for yourself.
